This Shakshouka Recipe Features our Bloody Mary Ketchup
We are loving the one pot wonders these days.
Not just because there’s minimal washing up but what better way to start your day with a hot brekkie full of wholesome, flavourful goodness than this Shakshouka Recipe.
The beauty with this dish is you can pretty much ‘bung’ in whatever you have in the fridge if you want to keep things easy. So long as you have a tin of tomatoes and eggs then you’re off to a flying start.
A dish like this really needs added flavour & spice otherwise you risk it just becoming a mushy mess.
So, adding our Bloody Mary Ketchup to the pan is definitely the cheats way, considering all of the delicious spices we pack into every jar of this Ketchup favourite. We’ve included the recipe below so you can enjoy it for yourself.
The one downside for us today though was that we really could have done with a fresh sourdough loaf to lightly toast and scoop up the goodness on our bread in every bite. There’s always next time…
Shakshouka Recipe
Brown diced veggies together in one pan. We suggest onions, garlic, capsicum, mushrooms, tomatoes. You can also add in some diced bacon too!
Once perfectly browned, add a tin of diced tomatoes, at least 2 tablespoons of Bloody Mary Ketchup (more the better).
Gently bring to a boil.
Make a little well for each egg and crack an egg straight onto the top of your dish.
Season with Salt & Pepper.
Cover with a lid, turn to a low heat and leave until the eggs are cooked to your liking.
Garnish with some spring onion or herbs of your preference. 🥖Serve with fresh sourdough, lightly toasted. #shashouka#breakfast#onepanwonder#onepanbreakfast#breakfastrecipes
